To give you an idea of what an “item” is: this could mean one bunch of carrots, 1 lb. of heirloom tomatoes, or 1 qt of potatoes, etc.
U-Pick Crops are included in the price of the share for members picking up at the farm. We offer beautiful flowers, blueberries, culinary herbs, peas, cherry tomatoes, husk cherries, and beans when they are in season. U-Pick is very popular with our members. It’s a great way to spend time with family, and is a great opportunity to help children to make the connection to where their food comes from. The flowers field with all it’s butterflies and blooms is a great place to de-stress after work!
Farm Supporters: Select this option to offer additional support for farm growth and investments.
Pick-up Times:
Tuesdays or Thursdays: On-farm pick up in Downingtown (110 Buck Road) from 1-7pm.
Pick up is "free choice" market style, meaning that produce is set out on display, with members choosing a set number of items according to their share size. Members select their own produce, and pack their own bags. Free choice CSA allows much more flexibility than pre-packed CSA boxes. For example, a half share member will be able to choose 7-8 items from a display that ranges from 14 items at beginning of season, up to 25 items at peak season. Full share members choose 11-12 items from the the display. We try our best to accommodate everyone's preferences through our free choice model.
On-farm pick-up offers the most value for your share price. Members that pick up at the farm have a deeper connection to the farm. Whether it's through spending time in the fields picking U-pick crops, or conversing with the farmers in the pick-up area, picking up at the farm can be an enjoyable experience. There is always a farmer in the pick-up area to assist with pick up, and to make sure we are fully stocked. You truly get to know your farmers!
